Failure is Not an Option

Psalm 36:7-9

Ending the day on the computer in the living room that must be six or seven years old (it’s running Windows XP 2002) and being with Grace and Carly before they go to bed.  They are at the age and independence level where they are doing their thing and they are fine with me working and if I can do it with them in the evening, even better.

This morning, I really felt defeated but I regrouped by working on this blog and making some progress.  It really is insanity living with a woman for the last six weeks who has filed for divorce for the 3rd time in 5 1/2 years and experiencing such a high level of anger and abuse each day that she is still in the house.  I will soon look back on this time period in disbelief but live each day now knowing that there will be a day when I can look back.

Although I regained the strength to keep fighting for the right in the Light, I do feel sad that our marriage is coming to a close again and this time with finality.

I also saw how the divorce is impacting Grace.  We had planned to go to Chick Fil A while their mother was out tonight running.  But then she said she wasn’t going running and that we couldn’t go to Chick Fil A because, “I’ve analyzed the blood of people that eat there and it’s horrible.”  I don’t think so.

When I mentioned that when we are divorced she won’t be able to control where the girls and I go, Grace heard me say the “d” word and she went from wanting to go to wanting to stay home and keep watching movies on her tablet as her way of escape.  That made me even more sad.

Oh well, time to close for tonight and tomorrow is a new day.  For whatever reason, I didn’t post the daily devotional from Jesus Calling by Sarah Young on Sunday, so I want to post it now.

I am a God of both intricate detail and overflowing abundance. When you entrust the details of your life to Me, you are surprised by how thoroughly I answer your petitions. I take pleasure in hearing your prayers, so feel free to bring Me all your requests. The more you pray, the more answers you can receive. Best of all, your faith is strengthened as you see how precisely I respond to your specific prayers.

Because I am infinite in all My ways, you need not fear that I will run out of resources.Abundance is at the very heart of who I am. Come to Me in joyful expectation of receiving all you need—and sometimes much more! I delight in showering blessings on My beloved children. Come to Me with open hands and heart, ready to receive all I have for you.

How priceless is your unfailing love! Both high and low among men find refuge in the shadow of your wings. They feast on the abundance of your house; you give them drink from your river of delights. For with you is the fountain of life; in your light we see light.
—Psalm 36:7–9

I will bless her with abundant provisions; her poor will I satisfy with food.
—Psalm 132:15

When they had all had enough to eat, he said to his disciples, “Gather the pieces that are left over. Let nothing be wasted.” So they gathered them and filled twelve baskets with the pieces of the five barley loaves left over by those who had eaten.
